Earth care, people care and fair share. The Paintbox Lodge strives to create a business system that nurtures community, leads in environmental stewardship, welcomes the world and provides the balance for our team to have a great life. Thank you for staying with us. Because of you, we can give back to the community and place we love.
The Paintbox Lodge lies within Treaty 7 territory, and we honour the tradition and spirit of the area by welcoming you to the traditional lands of Stoney Nakoda peoples. For centuries this area has been home and a place of hunting, gathering, harmony, balance and commerce for many peoples.
We believe in Athletes. Many of our staff are Olympic alumni, or are hardworking athletes with Olympic aspirations. We are a proud sponsor of cross country skier, Maya MacIsaac-Jones.
We believe in Sustainability. The Paintbox Lodge is part of a global movement of companies donating 1% of their annual net revenues to environmental organizations. Our 1% for the Planet assists Alpine Edible Schoolyards and Yellowstone to the Yukon Conservation Initiative. By staying at our hotel, our guests are contributing to big positive change in our community, combining urban farming and school gardens into a fertile catalyst for hands-on practical learning and local food production. You are also connecting and protecting habitat from Yellowstone to Yukon so people and nature can thrive. Our hotel’s electricity is supplied with 100% clean energy from Bullfrog Power and our herb garden is inspired by Permaculture design using a wicking bed. We do the small important things like promoting biking, reducing, reusing and recycling.
We believe in the power of Local. Our guests enjoy organic and local community supported food from Organic Box, as well as local power supplied by Bow Valley Power. We feature local artists. We would like to thank Noel Rogers of Bow Valley Photography for the photos on our website. We are currently showing photographs by Noel Rogers and Craig Richards’. Local paintings are by Kimberly Olson, Matthew Innes and Nicole Iff. Thank you Brad Orr, for the banner photo on our website.
We believe in Paradise Unplugged. Small TV and DVD player with limited cable. Books, board games and cozy communal spaces in hotel. Charming town and out of this world outdoor mountain playground provided.
